Getting Video RMR from Residential Customers

End users are adapting video to monitor their homes for security and lifestyle purposes. Video doorbells and other cloud-based residential video products including names like Ring, NestCam and Canary have attention of consumers. How can the pro-security channel leverage this to remain relevant and enhance residential RMR with a targeted go-to-market video strategy for existing and new prospects? In this session, we will:

John Hopper
John has over 35 years of combined experience in Law Enforcement and Security and is currently an Independent Global Security Consultant serving both large corporations and smaller independent companies.

As a Law Enforcement Officer, John worked in a wide range of assignment including patrol, training, narcotics, investigations, SWAT and administration.

After his career in Law Enforcement, John found his way into the private security industry, where John worked for one of California’s largest independent alarm and guard companies, First Alarm, as a Regional Manager. He later joined a large nationwide provider of alarm systems, Sentry Alarm Systems of America, as it’s Chief Administrative Officer. John was instrumental in helping both companies achieve SDM Top 100 status.

Having worked in the traditional intrusion and fire alarm industry for nearly 20 years, John entered into the corporate sector and became a Global Security Expert in the field of Electronic and Physical Security. John worked for Apple, helping the company reshape it’s Global Physical Security Technology footprint and was directly responsible the deployment of electronic security systems for Apple facilities including Data Centers, Regional Campuses and Offices. John then worked at Facebook and helped build the company’s Security Technology programs. John was also directly responsible for the electronic security deployments for all of Facebook’s Data Centers worldwide.

As an independent security consultant, today John assists a variety of large and small companies with both physical and electronic security needs, including responsibility for all of UBER’s North America systems project management.

For many years John has devoted time to both professional and local community organizations. John was elected and served as President of the California Alarm Association. He was Chairman of his local ASIS Chapter and has served his City as a Planning Commissioner, City Council Member and Mayor.

Greg Simmons
Greg Simmons started in the security industry as a central station operator for Eagle Sentry in 1989. He managed the central station for two years before being promoted to sales. While attending college full time, Greg sold security systems for 5 years before performing a leveraged buyout with his business partner of Eagle Sentry in 1996. He helped build the company as business development and sales director into a full systems integration company doing over 14 million in annual sales. He still holds the same position today, as well as presiding as the Nevada Security Association President. Greg is an active member of CEDIA. Eagle Sentry is currently listed as the 27th largest integrator in the CEPro 100.
