Owners contemplate selling their companies for various reasons. It could be that the next opportunity is more compelling, retirement is just around the corner, there is not a viable succession plan, or the risk/reward factor is less attractive in the future. However, there are persuasive reasons to remain in the electronic security business that will point to a bright future. You’ll hear from owners and experts who have been there, done that, from both side of the aisle. In this session, you will learn:

- The valuation trends that shape the multiples: level of RMR, the types of recurring services, and rising interest rate
- The tax implications that you need to consider
With her extensive experience in the security industry, Ms. Bond has played an integral part in the growth of Alarm Capital Alliance. In her role as Senior Vice President of Business Development for ACA, Ms. Bond is responsible for increasing sales through acquisitions and driving the overall business-to-business development strategy for the company. In 2014, the Women's Security Council recognized her career accomplishments by naming her an Honoree of their Women of the Year awards.
Ms. Bond has been with ACA since 2005 and began her work in the electronic security industry in 1998. In her career, Ms. Bond has also been responsible for business development, portfolio due diligence, negotiation of legal documentation, and assimilation of transactions.
Ms. Bond currently serves as the Membership Committee Chair and the National Scholarship Chair for ESA.
John R. Jennings
Joined Safeguard Security in 1975. During John’s tenure yearly gross revenues increased from $500,000 to over $38 million. Safeguard was continually recognized as a leader in providing residential and commercial security services and was selected as SDM Magazine’s 2002 Dealer of the Year.
Mr. Jennings is a recipient of the Morris Weinstock Person of the year award, the first ever Honeywell Security Lifetime Achievement Award and is a member of the SSI Security Industry Hall of Fame
John Loud, originally hailing from Boston, has embraced the spirit of Southern hospitality in all aspects of his personal and professional life. John has worn many hats in his career: hockey player, comedy club manager, Delta flight attendant, political campaign worker, community volunteer and entrepreneur.
John’s primary focus since 1995 has been the establishment and growth of LOUD Security. From its humble beginnings in the basement of the Loud home, LOUD Security now employs over 60 people and services 8,500 customers. Most recently, John’s outstanding leadership resulted in the Kennesaw Citizen of the Year Award and the Mack Henderson Public Service Award for his commitment and dedication to the quality of life for the citizens of Cobb County.
Not only has John used his talent of integrating today’s technology with old fashioned service to his current business, he has lent his talents to professional and community organizations across the state of Georgia. From President of the Kennesaw Business Association, President of the Georgia Electronic Life Safety and Security Association, cooperating with local police departments to promote Georgia legislation that would increase life safety to his customers; John has been, and continues to be, an avid champion for the security industry.
Ralph W. Sevinor is the Founder and President of Wayne Alarm Systems Inc. In 1967, Ralph’s home was robbed, leaving Ralph and his family feeling traumatized, violated, and vulnerable. He built his first alarm system in his parent’s basement and soon after launched Wayne Alarm Systems. Ralph attended Wentworth Institute of Technology where he studied for the electrical engineering degree program. While in college Ralph continued his passion for the alarm industry and patented his first marine security system. Over his career, Ralph has built one of the largest full service, independently owned security companies within the United States. Wayne Alarm Systems employs over 85 staff based out of two location in Lynn and Nantucket MA. Currently Wayne Alarm Systems is entering its 50th year in business. Throughout Ralph’s career he has taken on numerous volunteer positions to give back to the industry and community. Some positions included Chairman of the Electronic Security Association, President of the Central Station Alarm Association, President of the Electronic Security Association, Chairman of the Board of Examiners of Electricians – Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Chairman of the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce.
