ESX is different from all other industry conferences and shows because it’s owned by the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) and Electronic Security Association (ESA). The revenue generated by the conference will remain within the industry to be used for programming, education, legislative activities and public relations to benefit your company.
February 10, 2012 – The Electronic Security Expo (ESX) has announced that Marianna Perry, M.S., CPP, a Safety and Security Consultant/Trainer and former Director of the National Crime Prevention Institute at the University of Louisville, will be its featured speaker of the Industry IceBreaker Luncheon, sponsored by Security Sales & Integration magazine.
The luncheon, which celebrates the security industry’s connection with public safety, will also include the presentation of a host of awards, including the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) William N. Moody Awards, the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) Awards, the new Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) Five Diamond Marketing Marvel designation and the Electronic Security Association (ESA) Youth Scholarship Award.
“We’re thrilled to have Marianna Perry present at the annual Industry IceBreaker Luncheon,” says George De Marco, ESX Chair. “Her experience in public safety, coupled with her understanding of the private security industry, will ensure for an interesting and informative presentation.”
Perry, who is also adjunct faculty in the Department of Justice and Public Safety Administration at Sullivan University, was previously the general manager of one of the region's largest private security companies and is a former trooper and detective with the Kentucky State Police. She is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS), where she is a member of the Crime and Loss Prevention Council.
“I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences in the public safety and private security sectors with the audience at ESX,” says Perry. “The two industries have important ties to each other and it’s crucial that we continue to develop and grow the relationship.”
Perry plans to speak about some of the successful public/private partnerships on the national level and building partnerships on the local level, as well as federal public safety agencies (DHS, FEMA, etc.), and the relationships between local law enforcement and businesses and private security.
After the presentation, SIAC will present its annual William N. Moody Awards, which recognize volunteers who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication in this mission.
Security Sales & Integration will also announce the recipient of the PDQ Award, which recognizes the security company that best demonstrates a proactive and cooperative effort to reduce unnecessary alarm dispatches.
CSAA will recognize the first-ever recipient of its new Five Diamond Marketing Marvel designation. Sponsored by Security Sales & Integration, this program honors companies that use their CSAA Five Diamond designation in creative ways to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The goal of the program is to encourage security monitoring companies to enrich their operations by educating them about the “best marketing practices” of CSAA Five Diamond companies.
In addition, ESA will announce the first place winner of its Youth Scholarship Award, a $7,500 scholarship given to a student based on a combination of academic achievement, national test scores, extracurricular participation and an essay explaining "What it means to me to have my parent or guardian involved in securing our community."
