Charlotte offers a range of offbeat places to eat, and its sizzling culinary scene has a diverse blend of options for ESX attendees.

With all of the options available, we asked CPI Security’s President and CEO Kenneth Gill for his picks of the city’s top eats.

"We're all about the comfort food," says Gill. "You definitely won't leave Charlotte with an empty stomach."

From the eclectic and exotic to the everyday American dishes with a special flare, here are three hot spots you’ll want to check out while you’re at ESX.

Seafood
Upstream Restaurant, located in the heart of the South park area, offers innovative seafood dishes that feature fresh dayboat seafood. This Pacific Rim-influenced restaurant offers an eclectic dining experience, with menu highlights like their hailed Bento Box, unique tuna dishes and fresh oysters.

Indoor and outdoor patio seating is available.

Steak
Beef ‘n Bottle doesn’t look like much from the outside, but this steakhouse may be one of Charlotte’s best kept secrets. The dimly lit restaurant, sprinkled with candlelit tables, features live entertainment and is decorated with black and white photos. Looking much like the set of the Godfather, this authentic spot is, of course, highly regarded for its excellent beef dishes and extensive beer list.

Mexican
Cabo Fish Taco flaunts the best beer battered fish tacos in Charlotte. Here, you’ll find the flavors of Southern California and the Baja coast of Mexico.
