Harlick’s 15-plus years of experience in marketing and sales, along with his solid understanding of the security industry, are assets that are sure to impact the already steady growth of AE Ventures. Harlick will be responsible for sales for ESX and the ESI Forum. As publisher of Security Dealer and Integrator magazine, Harlick was directly involved with the publication’s sales, marketing and overall brand development. He helped electronic security manufacturers, distributors and central stations develop notable and results-driven communications strategies. Harlick has also had a strong involvement in the Electronic Security Association (ESA) and the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA), which AE Ventures works very closely with throughout the year to produce the Electronic Security Expo. While publisher of SD&I, Harlick sat on the Board of Directors as Associate Member Representative for ESA (then known as the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association). He also served on the marketing committee for the CSAA. Through his 10 years of hands-on security industry and media experience, Harlick has a solid understanding of the needs of the integrators, monitoring companies and end-users. “I have a passion for the security industry and the betterment of its practioners,” says Harlick. “What’s really exciting to me is the potential to work with companies that understand their value proposition and the importance of getting in front of existing customers and meeting new ones.” Not only experienced in security media but also an actual practitioner, he has spoken at industry events on the subjects of pandemic preparedness as well as securing soft targets from acts of terrorism. Harlick plans to listen and respond to the needs of his exhibitors and sponsors, having already started creating customized packages for his clients that are set to deliver valuable experiences that exceed expectations. “From a sales and branding standpoint, our shows give the exhibitor/sponsor the ability to be extremely creative when it comes to communicating their message to an attendee,” says Harlick. “It’s rewarding any time you can help your customer reach their customer in a meaningful way. I’ve watched ESX grow in popularity, size and relevance and I believe that the ESI Forum and the Electronic Security Expo really have the power to create some great opportunities for those trying to reach the security integration channel.” Peter Harlick can be reached at pharlick@ae-ventures.com or 508-618-4224.
