CSAA/NBFAA Industry Leaders Appointed to Guide Design of New Security ShowOctober 16, 2007 – The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) announced today the appointment of several industry leaders to working groups that will guide the design, development and delivery of their new Electronic Security Expo (ESX). Overall leadership of the working groups will be in the capable hands of Expo Chair, George De Marco of Coto de Caza, Calif.. Southern Vice President of the California Alarm Association, board member of the WBFAA, a California Unilateral Apprenticeship and Training Committee and the founder and former president of Greater Alarm of Irvine, Calif., De Marco is a tireless association volunteer and industry visionary with an appreciation of both the industry’s traditions and foundation business principles and its future opportunities and challenges.
The ESX sales working group, charged with exhibitor and conferee recruitment, consists of:
• Ed Bonifas, vice president, Alarm Detection Systems, Inc, Aurora, Ill.
The ESX program advisory working group, charged with the development of the premier training program for security integration and monitoring companies, consists of:
• Dave Combes, commercial development manager, Honeywell Security, Melville, N.Y. In addition to these industry leaders, ESX will also include planning and development involvement from CSAA’s Steve Doyle and John McDonald as well as NBFAA’s Merlin Guilbeau and Jorge Rivas. “The NBFAA and CSAA have put together a group of the electronic security industry’s best and brightest to plan ESX and ensure it features the most compelling conference content, the best supplier company exhibitors and the highest quality turnout possible,” said George Gunning, president of NBFAA and CEO of USA Alarm Systems, Monrovia, Calif. “We’re grateful for the commitment of time, energy and imagination this group of industry experts is lending to the ESX effort,” added John Murphy, president of the CSAA and Pittsburg, Pennsylvania-based, Vector Security. “Their leadership will make for an event of the highest quality.” The inaugural Electronic Security Expo will take place June 25 – 27, 2008 at the Nashville Convention Center.
