Education SessionResidential Security: Innovation, Competition, and Channel Growth
Thursday, June 15, 2017 04:15PM - 05:30PM
While recent years have experienced solid security system sales and professional monitoring has recovered from the 2007 recession, adoption of professionally monitored security has expanded only slightly beyond its pre-recession high. That difference reflects, in part, the declining number of professionally monitored security systems in non-broadband households. This session will address the growth in the home security market thus a few specific trends, including IoT innovations, the addition of smart home offerings to traditional security, and the continued emergence of new competitors, particularly broadband providers. In this session panelists and Parks Associates will share:
- Who is inclined to purchase security systems, providing insight into consumer segments adopting new products and services
- What features, use-cases, and the future adoption trends
- Insights into the impact of smart home offerings including challenges and barriers as well as opportunities to reduce attrition and increase reoccurring monthly revenues
