Most alarm companies and integrators are hesitant to raise their monthly subscription fees to their clients, fearing that many will jump ship. In the on-demand economy, where disruptive technologies and go-to-market strategies are beginning to affect the industry, market dynamics that drive consumer RMR pricing perceptions come into play. In this session, you’ll learn:
- Why it’s good business to raise RMR fees
- The best times to raise the rates for commercial or residential customers
- How to manage the process – amount of increase, customer notification and responding to customers that challenge the increase
Dave has held several management positions in the security industry, serving as First Alarm's president for the past 7 years. First Alarm is a traditional security company with branch offices throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area and more the $1M in RMR.
Dave holds a Master's Degree in Business, and currently serves as the chair of the Technology Committee for the the California Alarm Association, and President of the Golden Gate Alarm Association.

Mike Miller is the Past President of NBFAA/ESA (Electronic Security Association) 2008-2010. He has been involved in the alarm and security industry for over 40 years. He graduated from Northwest Nazarene College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Mike and his wife, Debby, have been married over 37 years and have four children: Brooke, Brandy, Britney and Stephen, and eight grandchildren.
Mike currently serves as President and co-owner of Moon Security Services, Inc. located in Pasco, Washington. Moon Security Services, Inc., a family owned business since 1957 is a full service security company providing services such as patrol, guards, installation, maintenance and monitoring, currently having over 185 employees. Moon Security Services, Inc. is an SDM Top 100 recognized company. He is very involved on a local level serving on the board for Goodwill Industries, Lourdes Health Network, levy/bond campaign chairperson for Pasco School District and active member of Rotary. Mike is always willing to Golf for a worthy cause.
Mike served as President of Washington Burglar and Fire Alarm Association and is very active in the Eastern Chapter of WAESA. His involvement with ESA/NBFAA includes chairing of the
Patrick Ritter is a Senior Vice President for the SDM100 firm ADS Security headquartered in Nashville, TN. His responsibilities include leadership of multiple ADS operations including accounting, monitoring/customer service and technology in addition to his contributions to the diligence and closing of fifteen acquisitions over the past three years.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is a CPA. In 2012, he was named one of the Top 20 under 40 by Security Systems News.
