For many pure DIY security companies, a truck roll is used only as a shipping method and not as an installation or service means. John Campau is president and chief executive officer of Comtronics, headquartered in Jackson, Michigan. John joined his 58 year old family business 30 years ago, and served the past 20 years as president. He is an expert in the security industry, and has participated in dozens of interviews and multiple speaking engagements at industry events around the country. John currently serves on the Honeywell National Dealer Advisory Board and was named Dealer of the Year by Honeywell in 2012. He was named 2001 Small Business Person of the Year by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce; and 2006 Citizen of the Year by the Jackson Citizen Patriot for his many years of giving back to the community. John owns 19 cell phone retail stores in Michigan where he is currently selling DIY alarm systems. He is getting ready to launch a national DIY Home Automation initiative with other cell phone retailers, alarm dealers and via eCommerce. John has recently appeared in national trade magazines for being a leader in the DIY space.
